Get Hot Racers

The installer isn't code-signed (signing certificates cost money and this game is free), so Microsoft SmartScreen doesn't recognise it yet.

1. Click More info.
2. Check that the publisher line reads Unknown publisher and the file name is HotRacers-…-windows-x64-setup.exe.
3. Click Run anyway. The installer puts the game in your user folder (no admin rights needed) and adds a Start-menu shortcut.

To remove it: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Hot Racers → Uninstall.

Hot Racers is free and isn't notarised by Apple (that needs a paid developer account), so the first launch needs one extra click:

1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Hot Racers onto the Applications folder.
2. In Applications, right-click (or Control-click) Hot Racers and choose Open, then click Open again. After that it opens normally.
3. macOS 15 Sequoia or later (or if there's no Open button): try to open it once, click Done, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the "Hot Racers was blocked" message and click Open Anyway, then confirm with your password.

If it says the app "is damaged": that's macOS's quarantine flag on unsigned downloads, not real damage. Open Terminal and run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Hot Racers.app", then open it again. Check the SHA-256 below first if you want to be sure the file is genuine.

1. Open the game in Safari (macOS Sonoma or later), then choose File → Add to Dock.
2. Or in Chrome / Edge: click the install icon in the address bar (or ⋮ → Cast, save and share → Install page as app).

It opens in its own window, works offline and updates itself.

1. Tap the download button and open the file when it finishes.
2. If Android asks, allow Install unknown apps for your browser (Settings → Apps → your browser → Install unknown apps), then go back and tap Install.
3. Play Protect may warn that the app is from an unknown developer: tap More details → Install anyway.

Prefer no APK? In Chrome tap ⋮ → Add to Home screen → Install for the web app.
